Barcelona's Lionel Messi is set to miss two matches after suffering from muscle strain injuries, reports the Spanish media.

The Argentine forward suffered the injury in training on Monday and was unable to play for Barcelona against Real Madrid on Tuesday night. He has already missed several games this season due to injuries, but it seems likely that he will be out of action again in his next two matches.

The injury is expected to sideline Messi for at least a few weeks, which could put him behind schedule in terms of preparing for the upcoming Champions League and Copa del Rey competitions.

"It is a very serious injury," said Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman, who has been monitoring Messi closely during the past week. "He is not going to play for another month or more."

Koeman said that Messi's absence would be a big blow to the team, as they have only one goal in their last three matches and are currently sitting in seventh place in La Liga with just four points.

Despite the setback, Messi remains confident that he can overcome the injury and return to full fitness in time for the final match of the season against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

"We need to give him some rest and let him recover completely," Koeman said. "We are trying to get him back into the team soon."

Barcelona manager Josep Maria Bartomeu also expressed concern about Messi's condition, saying that the club must do everything possible to help him through the difficult period.

"The key is to keep him healthy and give him the best care possible," Bartomeu said. "It is a difficult situation, but we have to try to help him."

While the injury is a significant setback for Messi, he remains determined to make a comeback and prove himself as a top player once again. With the support of his teammates and the medical staff, he should be able to bounce back quickly and contribute to the team's success once again.
