Marseille manager Lucien Favre has reiterated his long-term commitment to the club and expressed his desire to lead the team towards success in Ligue 1 this season.

Favre, who took over as Marseille manager in January, has already led the club to two wins in their opening three games of the season, including a 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade Velodrome last weekend. The former Monaco coach is known for his attacking style of play and has been praised for his ability to motivate his players.

In an interview with RMC Sport, Favre said: "I have a long-term plan here at Marseille. I want to build something special here and we need to work hard every day to achieve that goal."

He also spoke about the importance of maintaining consistency throughout the season, saying: "We must be consistent from start to finish. We cannot afford any slip-ups or mistakes if we want to succeed in Ligue 1."

Despite facing some tough competition in the league, Favre remains confident in his team's abilities and believes they can compete for honours this season.

The Frenchman has also spoken positively about the support he receives from owner Frank McCourt, saying: "I am very grateful for the support of the club's owners. They have given me the freedom to make decisions and trust my judgment."

With the season still young and plenty of opportunities remaining, Favre and Marseille will hope to continue their promising start and push on for honours this season.
